Whether your Cadet is returning or starting their journey, we cannot wait to connect with you. The Navy League Cadet program is full of opportunity and amazing experiences, just waiting to be explored. 

Why Join NLCC Carlplace? 

NLCC Carlplace is the home of the Navy League Cadet Corp for Carleton Place, Ontario. We’re a close-knit corps, with enthusiastic, committed officers and volunteers who are thrilled to work with our Cadets.  The Navy League Cadet program builds confidence through structure, challenge, and an emphasis on personal accountability and growth. 

As a corps, we blend fun activities with community service and instruction to foster teamwork and a sense of responsibility. We look to grow leaders, not just for today, but for the future. 

What’s New This Year?

Beginning September 9, we’re starting off with a Welcome Back BBQ and a sign up night, along with a parent information session.  Parents and cadets will meet our officers and volunteers, get an overview of a typical program night, and ask questions.   

Uniforms will not be assigned or exchanged on this first night, so all Cadets, returning or new, are asked to arrive in appropriate civilian attire. 

We have new officers and volunteers this year, and we’re excited to introduce them to you. We also have some brand new opportunities for parent volunteers to help out in a way that is low-commitment but high-impact.  All parents are strongly encouraged to attend and find out how you can contribute to make this one of our most successful years yet. 

A Community Like No Other 

Families who become part of the NLCC Carlplace community find support, friendship and fun. Our Cadets gain skills, memories and friendships that will last beyond their few years spent in our program.  And the opportunity to make a lasting impact on our community cannot be understated. 

Ready to Join? 

Cadets can sign up any time during the year, but starting from the beginning will make sure your Cadet will gain the most from the program.  

In order to become a Navy League Cadet, your child must be at least 9 years old as of September 9, 2025. Please bring a copy of their birth certificate in order to register.  Registration starts at 6:15 pm. 

If your child is not yet 9, don’t worry! They can join as soon as they turn 9, even if that’s mid-year. We’re always welcoming new members to our corps family.
